September already?!

Ah, maybe we can begin to breathe normally again... trip to Table Rock today and the feeling that a few trees are beginning to change colors. Autumn colors make me happy!

Look for this photo and an article in Columbia Metropolitan Magazine in October!
See me at Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival in Murrells Inlet, SC, September 24-26! The old castle is transformed into an art mecca -- definitely worth the trip! I'll be in booth IS4 (Inside Studio).
Save November 4 - 7 for Holiday Open House in Chapin -- details soon!

Painting, painting, painting... see you at the gallery.

I didn't realize that it had been such a long time since I'd posted anything here -- thanks, Lee, and my husband for reminding me!

Christmas in August sale at the gallery starts today, August 5th!!!

Where have I been???

Well, here's the scoop... painting, painting, painting! Artista Vista at The Gallery at DuPre on Gervais St. in Columbia (where I'm showing about a dozen originals); Wine and Wondrous Art at the gallery in Chapin (on April 23... ); Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF) Southworks Artist Market, coming up MAY 1 AND MAY 2, Watkinsville, GA -- a great festival of artists and performers (www.ocaf.com) ... and getting ready for my 20th anniversary at ArtCan Studio & Gallery on JUNE 1, 2010 -- celebration from 5-9 PM.

Now you can find my fan page on Facebook -- Judy Bolton Jarrett, ArtCan Studio Gallery.

Hope that you will also see my very beautifully updated website, www.judyjarrettgallery.com, which is ALMOST finished and loaded. Thanks, Buddy, my talented webmaster!!!

And so, Artfully yours... I hope to see you soon!

It's what I do...

It's like my daily intake of air, this painting process... Mark Mehaffey, a practicing artist, juror, teacher, says of himself that he cannot stick to one style -- that he enjoys the experimentation of realism, impressionism, abstraction, often taking the same subject and rendering different versions. For me, it's the fun of moving it around, trying new ideas, going with the flow.

New website will be up soon! A lot of new art will be there! Here's hoping you will weigh in on this, about your own art experiences, whether it's as a painter or sculptor or just an appreciator or a collector!

As my byline for the gallery says, "Art Can make all the difference!"

REMEMBERING...

my friend Bev Williams, fellow artist, continuous student, art show traveler, dearest friend. Bev died on Sunday, Feb. 14, after a long debilitating illness. What cannot be taken away are the legacy left in her own art creations and the influence she had on me and countless others who knew her. I'm sure that Heaven is a more colorful place because she is there!!
